Head Coach - Harvey McIntyre ( 2000-Current )
Harvey McIntyre begins his 17th year as a coach of the Blinn Buccaneer Baseball Program and his 10th as the head coach. In 2014, the Bucs earned a trip to the NJCAA World Series and finished 5th in the country. Coach McIntyre also was honored with the NJCAA Southern District Coach of the year, Region XIV Coach of the year, and the Diamond ABCA Regional Coach of the year awards. During Coach McIntyre's coaching career at Blinn he has coached, 7 All Americans, 135 players who have moved on to 4 year Universities, 32players & former players who have been drafted, 6 of which have been drafted in the top 10 rounds of the MLB draft, 20 cademic All Americans, and 7 teams that have been recognized as National Academic Teams of the year.
Coach McIntyre is a Brenham native and a 1995 graduate of Brenham High School. He began his college career at Howard College in Big Spring under Brian Roper (1996-1997). He transferred to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, and played baseball for the Demons (1998-1999) under Rob Childress, Sean McCann, Dave Van Horn, and John Cohen. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in General Studies and, after graduating, he played for the Alexandria Aces in the Texas-Louisiana Independent Baseball League during the summer of 1999. In 2000, he joined his mentor and friend Brian Roper at Blinn College. While coaching, he received his Master of Education Degree in Health and Physical Education from Prairie View A&M University in 2005. Coach McIntyre is a Health Instructor at Blinn.
Coach McIntyre is a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brenham Booster Club, Heritage Society of Washington County, and has served as President of the Texas-New Mexico Junior College Coaches Association. He is also a Soccer Coach for the Washington County Youth Soccer Association. He married the former Reagan Robinson of Brenham in 2003. They have a daughter Emma Kate, 11 and a son Cooper Robinson, who is 6 years old. Coach McIntyre enjoys playing golf, hunting, working out, watching college football, and spending time with family and friends.
Assistant Coach - Blake Whitter ( 1st year )
Blake Whitter begins his first season as pitching coach/red shirt coordinator at Blinn College in 2016 after serving as the Director of Operations at Texas State University. Whitter also played baseball at Blinn. As Director of Operations at Texas State, Whitter was responsible for coordinating travel, equipment purchasing, scouting reports and meals. Whitter graduated from Texas State in 2015, earning a degree in applied sociology with a minor in health and wellness promotion and is currently pursing his alternative teaching certification.
Before taking over as Director of Operations, Whitter served as student coach in the fall of 2015, helping take Texas State pitchers through the team's daily routines.
As a player in 2015,Whitter's final season at Texas State, he led the Bobcats in both saves (5) and appearances (27), throwing 42.2 innings. The native of Kingwood, struck out 32 batters and tallied three strikeouts or more in three games. Whitter also played in the California Collegiate League for the San Luis Obispo Blues where he was a 2014 All-League performer and led the league in appearances.
As a pitcher at Blinn in the 2013 season, Whitter finished with a 2-1 record in three appearances and maintained a 1.98 earned run average in 13.2 innings. Before his collegiate career, Whitter was a three-year letterman at Kingwood High School where he was named District MVP, all-state and first team All-Houston.
